DDC Udhampur holds public outreach programme at Basantgarh

District Development Commissioner, Dr Piyush Singla, conducted a series of public grievances redressal camps at far flung areas of the district to take stock of public grievances at panchayat level.DDC along with team of officers interacted with the people of Mang Panchayat besides conducting interaction programme at sub division Basantgarh.Officers who accompanied the DDC were SDM Basantgarh Dr. Andreas Peter, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, DIO, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, AD FCS&CA, Mohd Arif Lone, CEO Daljeet Singh, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. K.C Dogra, Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Ajay Kumar, Executive Engineer PDD, Rajinder Gupta, Executive Engineer PHE Taj Choudhary, Chief Agriculture Officer, Jahangir Shafi, Chief Horticulture Officer, Brij Vallabh Gupta besides tehsil level officers of various departments, Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent citizens and locals attended the camp.The outreach programme witnessed overwhelming participation of sarpanchs, panchs and general public hailing from Panchayat Upperla Balota, Basantgarh, Mang and Khaned of Sub –Division Basantgarh.Sarpanchs and locals of the nearby panchayats put forth their demands and grievances which included sanctioned of Higher Secondary School building at Jakhed, shortage of staff in GHSS Jakhed, Blacktopping of Mantalai to Basantgarh and Ramnagar to Basantgarh road, Repair of pipelines, creation of receiving station at Dudu, ambulance facilities at Basantgarh and Dudu, opening of new bank branches, transformers, clearance of MGNREGA liabilities, pending cases of pension in Social Welfare Department,  foot bridges at Basantgarh, dilapidated roads, construction of Degree College building, verification of ration cards, SRTC bus service from Ramnagar to Basantgarh, paucity of staff in Heath and Education Department, repair of internal roads, awareness camps by Agriculture and Horticulture departments, proper distribution of ration,  shortage of  drinking water supply and uninterrupted electricity supply.

DDC asked Executive Engineer PMGSY to ensure that road up to Khenad is constructed within three months and submit weekly report to DDC office. He asked the AD FCS&CA to organize awareness camps in the area for distribution of gas connection under Ujjwala scheme.Regarding bank branches, Bank Manager Basantgarh informed that feasibility report for opening of new bank branches has been submitted to higher authority. DDC directed the executing agencies to expedite the execution of road works and submit weekly report to DC Office Udhampur. He also directed the SDM Basantgarh to sanction relief cases after proper verification.While responding to demand for providing bus service in the area, DDC asked the local youth to come forward and start new buses under self employment scheme jointly/individually for which necessary permit will be issued.Under Horticulture sectors, the farmers were asked to form a group and Horticulture department will provide 50% subsidy for purchase of vehicle for transportation of Horticulture and Agriculture produces up to the Mandi to fetch good market price.DDC asked the BDO to construct passenger shed at Shivgali near college stop. He asked to submit proposal for up gradation PHC Basantgarh to CHC. DDC further instructed the BDO to identify the spots where foot bridges are required and submit the estimate immediately.DDC took a series of decisions on the spot and sanctioned transformers, hand pumps, foot bridges, and ambulances for these far flung areas.Later, DDC conducted interaction programmes at GandTop and Kulwanta Panchayat and listened to public grievances
