Giving a huge bonanza to the Dera Baba Nanak residents ahead of the opening up of Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor on the eve of the 550th Parkash Purb celebrations of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Cooperation and Jails Minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today laid the foundation stone of the 2 bridges which would come up at the cost of Rs. 3.50 crore.In his address on the occasion, S. Randhawa who is also the MLA from Dera Baba Nanak, said that the construction would be over in 4 months. Disclosing more, he said that one bridge would be coming up on aliwal scape from village gillanwali to dhianpur link road at the cost of Rs. 1.90 crore and would be 30 metres long whereas the second one would be constructed on aliwal scape from village padde to tarowali link road at the cost of Rs. 1.60 crore and would be 30 metres long. The Punjab Mandi Board is constructing both the bridges.Divulging more, S. Randhawa said that the State Government is leaving no stone unturned to turn the celebrations into the memorable ones. This entails beautification of the Dera Baba Nanak town besides strengthening the infrastructure. This would prove hugely beneficial to the people of the region as well as those coming to pay obeisance at Gurudwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.On the occasion, XEN Mandi Board Mr. Anup Singh was also present.
