District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir, who is also the Chairman of District Mineral Foundation Trust Fund, today chaired a meeting of the officers of concerned departments regarding the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPR) under Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojna (PMKKKY).Threadbare discussions with regard to the preparations of DPRs and identification of works around the mineral extraction sites were held in the meeting.The meeting was informed that damages if any to the head works of Irrigation Department and other such structures near the extraction sites needs to be repaired and their safeguard ensured.The DDC asked the CMO Anantnag to prepare DPR for the procurement of Anaesthesia Apparatus for SDH Kokernag and Shangus and X – Ray apparatus for PHC Akingam. He also asked the CEO Anantnag to identify 10 schools to be developed as model institutions with state of art facilities. The meeting was also informed that open gymnasium facilities would be made available at Pahalgam, Kokernag and Anantnag for the general public through Department of Youth Services and Sports Anantnag. Likewise AD Handicrafts Anantnag was asked to prepare a DPR for the promotion and welfare Skill development in the district.The DDC stressed on proper management of plastic disposal. He also asked for the procurement of Reverse Vending Machines one each for Pahalgam, Verinag, Kokernag, Bijbehara and Achabal towns and two for Anantnag town.JD Planning, ACD Anantnag, CMO, CEO, CAO, DPO, DSWO attended the meeting.
