State Dinner hosted in honour of outgoing Governor Kalraj Mishra

The State Government hosted the State Dinner in honour of outgoing Governor Kalraj Mishra here on Friday evening, who has been appointed as Governor of Rajasthan.Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presented memento, shawl Himachal cap to Kalraj Mishra as token of respect. He also honoured the lady Governor Satyawati Mishra on this occasion.Speaking on the occasion, the Governor lauded the rich culture and traditions of Himachal Pradesh and said that the people of the state are very affectionate. He said that even before assuming the charge of Governor, he had long association with this hill state as he used to come here most often as In-charge of the state BJP.He said that the natural grandeur, geographical complexion, forest wealth and rich cultural traditions of the state attract everybody. He said that he would have loved to stay here for some more time and contributing in enrichment of various sectors. He expressed satisfaction that in a very short stay, he got a lot of affection from the people of the state and he would always cherish the memories he is taking away from this beautiful state.

The Governor expressed concern that the menace of drug addiction has also affected Himachal Pradesh and there is a need for collective efforts to cope with this challenge. He also stressed that the state should work on priority to harness the tourism potential available in the state.Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur lauded the services of Kalraj Mishra as Governor of Himachal Pradesh. He said that although his tenure as Governor of Himachal Pradesh was very short but he gave his valuable contributions to the State as Constitutional Head by his rich administrative experience.  He said that he always had special love and affection with the people of the State.He said that as In-charge of the State BJP, Kalraj Mishra made extensive tours to the State and gave his valuable contribution in strengthening the party at grass root level.The Chief Minister wished Kalraj Mishra a very successful tenure as the Governor of Rajasthan.A colourful cultural programme was also presented on this occasion.Kalraj Mishra left for Delhi today morning from Raj Bhawan. He will take oath as Governor of Rajasthan on 9 September, 2019.Irrigation and Public Health Minister Mahender Singh Thakur, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Agriculture Minister Dr. Ram Lal Markanda,  Forest Minister Govind Singh Thakur, Judges of High Court, MLAs, Mayor Kusum Sadrate, Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations, Chief Secretary Dr. Shrikant Baldi, DGP S.R Mardi, Advocate General, Political Advisor and OSD to the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and Heads of departments and other senior officers attended the State Dinner.
