DDC Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat today chaired a meeting of officers to review the pace and progress of developmental projects in the District.The meeting was attended by ADDC, ADC, ACR, JD Planning, Ex. Engineers of PDD,PHE,R&B,JKPCC, CMO, Dy. CEO, CAO, CAHO, DSWO and other concerned officers.Threadbare discussion was held on various issues like physical status of projects, financial implications, bottlenecks in projects, timeline of work projects and other related issues.DDC was briefed by heads of departments about sector wise achievements and status of developmental projects in the District. He was informed by Executive Engineer PMGSY that under the scheme, 287.13 KMs of road length has been completed in various parts of District benefitting 2.67 lakh souls.
It was also given out that major projects which are targeted for completion in current fiscal includes financial complex Kulgam, DDCs residence, two blocks of residential quarters at Lirrow, MCH Kulgam, PHC frisal, Devsar, Sub CenterAadpora and G&B Hostal. The chair was also informed that under Ayushman Bharat, 44000 beneficiaries have been registered and cards have been issued. It was also given out that there is a total sanction of 1297 AnganwardiCenters and 1208 AnaganwardiCenters are running smoothly in the District.The DSWO apprised the DDC about progress of various pension schemes like ISSS, NSAP and SMAS. He also informed the DDC that total no of 20298 beneficiaries are receiving the benefit under ISSS and 5236 beneficiaries are receiving under NSAP.Officers of Fisheries department informed the DDC about the fish production in the district. It was that cocoon projection has increased from 22000 kgs to 25000 kgs this year.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to speedup pace of construction,works and complete the projects in a stipulated time frame. He fixed the responsibility to the concerned officers for completing the projects within said timeline and directed them to inspect the work at sites personally to infuse impetus in work projects without compromising the quality. He also emphasized upon the officers to focus on Agriculture and allied sectors for setting up of income generating units under Dairy, Sheep rearing, Fish farming, High density plantation for sustainable economy.
