The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai today chaired a meeting of district officers to review arrangements for ensuing Muharram-ul-Harram starting from September 01.ADC Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, ASP Muneer Ahmad, SDMs, ACD, ACR, SE Hydraulics, CMO Budgam and other District/Sectoral officers were present in the meeting.During the meeting, representatives of various organizations put forward their issues with respect to arrangements for Muharram. The DC assured them that all of their issues would be resolved promptly.The DC instructed the concerned Departments to ensure availability of doctors and medicines, erection of High Mast lights and LEDs at required places, uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity, repair of roads, adequate supply and prompt distribution of ration, k-oil and LPG, supply of firewood at identified locations, proper sanitation and cleanliness drive during the ensuing period.Fire and Emergency Authorities were directed to remain alert and prepared to deal with any eventuality. The ARTO was directed to ensure special transport facilities till the conclusion of the procession on day of Aashura for the convenience of the citizens.He directed establishing a Control Room of all essential Departments at DC office for prompt and hassle-free public services delivery and quick action during the Muharram days.
