Paying a courtesy call to the Revenue Minister Punjab, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, who has recently assumed office, the Punjab Revenue Officer’s Association expressed gratitude to the State government and the Department of Revenue for declaring Naib Tehsildars as the Group B post. The association handed over to the Minister a memorandum pertaining to the demands of the Association, in his office at Civil Secretariat Punjab.Mr. Gurpreet Singh Kangar assured them all support and asked them to discharge the duty in an upright manner, with utmost dedication.Assuring honest and dedicated services to the people, the office bearers of the Association sought adequate infrastructure including computers, scanners and printers in the Tehsils for rendering better online registration services under NGDRS and official vehicle for the officers posted in sub tehsils since the nature of job entails extensive field work.The other demands put forth by the Association include promotions of Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars , due since 2013,reducing qualifying experience period for promotion of Tehsildar to DRO/PCS from eight to five years, declaring Tehsildar as a Group A post besides the demands relating DA, GPF and implementation of report of sixth Pay Commission.
