Launching his Road Show ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Manohar Lal today cautioned the people into getting trapped in the 48 year old Garibi Hatao dream being propagated this time by the third generation of the Gandhi family.“People will not get trapped in the illusionary programme of the opposition Congress since this time Watchman in the form of Prime Minister Narendar Modi is strong enough to thwart all such attempts to mislead the masses,” Manohar Lal said during his 4 km road show in the city which commenced from Shiv Chowk in front of Sanoli Road Vegetable Market under the ‘Connect to People programme.Terming Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s plan for eradication of poverty announced ahead of the Lok Sabha election as an election dream, the Chief Minister said that the Gandhi family has been promising eradication of poverty since long commencing with Indira Gandhi in 1971, when she first gave the Garibi Hatao slogan.But three generations of Gandhi family (Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and now Rahul Gandhi, the Congress had not been able to eradicate poverty from the country, Manohar Lal said. “The Garibi Hatao slogan is just to befool the people to come to power,” the Chief Minister added.
Manohar Lal said that in 2019 the interests of the poor are well protected by Prime Minister Narendar Modi who has become a strong watchman for the countrymen. “He is empowering the poor at the social and economic level,” the Chief Minister said adding that during the past 48 years the Congress has made Garibi Hatao a ritual during its campaigning for the election.He said that the Prime Minister Narendar Modi has protected the poor well through various schemes including the Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Scheme under which LPG cylinders are being given to the poor. Besides to the benefit of the common man the black marketing of LPG cylinders has been eradicated and now cooking gas is available without any waiting period, he said. The Chief Minister said that 10 Crore families have been covered under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme to provide free treatment upto Rs 5 lakh annually. Rs 6,000 per annum financial assistance has been announced for the farmers, Manohar Lal said detailing various other welfare measures undertaken by the BJP for the welfare of all sections of the society.The Chief Minister said that a desperate and frustrate Rahul Gandhi is frightened due to the prospect of BJP’s victory in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections due to growing popularity of the BJP due to various steps taken to uplift all sections of the society.“No amount of misleading statements and promises by Rahul Gandhi can stand in front of Prime Minister Narendar Modi,” he added.
