Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Jalandhar Mr.Varinder Kumar Sharma today asked the owners of Hotels and Marriage Palace owners to submit the report of their bookings daily to their concerned Election Registration Officer (ERO).Presiding over a meeting with the Hotel and Marriage Palace owners here at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kulwant Singh, said that in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha Polls Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in the district. He said that during the Model Code of Conduct the district administration would keep a strict vigil over the bookings of Hotels and Marriage palaces to keep a tab over the political activities during Model Code of Conduct. Mr. Sharma said that all the marriage palaces and Hotels have to daily furnish information pertaining to their bookings to the administration.The Deputy Commissioner said that every transaction for any political function has to brought on record and payment of such functions must be mandatorily taken through cheque. He also said that the administration must be informed earlier about these functions and permissions must be sought on such occasions. Mr. Sharma also said that there was a blanket ban on carrying of any arms and ammunition by private individuals in the functions.Taking part in deliberations, President Marriage Palace Owner Jalandhar Mr. Ranbir Singh Tut and President of Hotelier Association Mr. Paramjit Singh assured fulsome support and cooperation to the administration in this cause.On the occasion District Food and Civil Supply Controller Mr. Narinder Singh, Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner Ms. Rajwinder Kaur, Tehsildar Elections Mr. Manjit Singh and others were also present.
