A one-day National Seminar on the topic of State Society and National Security: An Indian Perspective concludes here today at Govt. Mohindra College, Patiala. The inaugural session of the day was chaired by Maj. Gen. Jyotinder Singh Sandhu, GOC 1 ARMD Div.The keynote Address was delivered by Maj. Gen. B. S. Grewal. Gen. Sandhu opined that society and state are equal stake holders in maintaining National Security. Gen. Grewal added that National Security is a wide ranging issue that needs to be taken seriously. Both Generals felt that we cannot relax in the present scenario. We have to deal with all risks diligently and be prepared before time to face any challenge posed in order to maintain the dignity of the nation.The Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Handa delivered the Presidential Address. She presented a very emotional discourse about how a civilian feels about his/her country in India and how we must stay alert in order to contribute along with the Indian Army to maintain internal security of our country.The Valedictory session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Gill and Prof. (Dr.) H. S. Bhatti from Punjab University Chandigarh and Punjabi university, Patiala, respectively. Dr. Rajesh Gill delivered the keynote address and Dr. H. S. Bhatti was the valedictory speaker. Conference convener Prof. I.S Cheema and Dr. Suveer Singh informed that A total number of 107 Research papers were presented by participants from Chandigarh, Meham, Hisar, Rohtak, Nabha and Patiala. Other than them, 50 students and teachers also participated as delegates and 25 faculty members from local colleges attended as guests during the Seminar, Dr. Cheema added.
