Himachal Pradesh bags three awards in Tourism in India Today Tourism Awards 2019

The State of Himachal Pradesh has once again proved that it is the most favourite destination of tourists and making progress under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur when state was conferred highest number of awards in none else but India Today Tourism Awards Ceremony. The state received three runner up awards ‘Best Adventure Destination”, ‘Best Mountain Destination’ and 'Most Scenic Road' during the India Today Tourism Survey and Awards 2019 function held at New Delhi today. Union Minister of State for Tourism K.J. Alphons presented the award to the state which was received by Vivek Mahajan Deputy Resident Commissioner.Hang Gliding Bir Billing was presented best runner up award under  "Best Adventure Destination" category, Sangla in district Kinnaur bagged runner up award in ‘Best Mountain Destination’ category whereas Shimla-Jispa via Kaza stretch was chosen for runner up award in ‘ Most Scenic Road ‘ category.The awards were presented to various states under nine categories out of which Himachal Pradesh won awards in three categories.Raj Chengappa Group Editorial Director Publishing delivered the welcome address.K.J. Alphons delivered keynote address on Tourism–India’s Next Growth Engine.Arjun Ram Meghwal Union Minister of State for Water Resources delivered the inaugural address on Saving Heritage Monuments.Tourism Ministers of Uttar Pradesh Rajasthan and Orissa and officers of respective State Tourism departments were present on the occasion.
