The Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) has appointed former deputy speaker of punjab legislative assembly and leader  Bir Devinder Singh as senior vice president and spokesperson for the party.This was announced by party Secretary General Sewa Singh Sekhwan in a statement released from the party head office here today. Bir Devinder Singh will also articulate the SAD (Taksali) views on various news channel television debates. Bir Devinder's appointment as senior vice president and spokesperson which has taken place with the concurrence of SAD (Taksali) president and MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, will definitely boost the prospects of SAD (Taksali) in the run up to ensuing Lok Sabha elections, " Brahmpura said".Bir Devinder Singh had joined politics in 1967 as the chief of Sikh Students Federation. He was elected MLA from Sirhind in 1980 and from Kharar in 2002 and became the deputy speaker of Punjab Legislative Assembly. It is pertinent to mention over here that on Wednesday evening, Advocate H.S Phoolka had approached SAD (Taksali) president and MP Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and held a closed door meeting at Brahmpura's residence in Chandigarh and lasted for nearly two hours, which was a positive meeting between both the leaders and they have made the strategy to remove the possession of Badal Family from SGPC. At this meeting Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad were also present. Every help and cooperate shall be provided to Adv. Phoolka and other panthic groups who wanted to throw out the Badals from SGPC and Punjab. The resolution of Adv. Phoolka, was unanimously passed with majority today by Punjab Legislative Assembly to hold the general elections of SGPC," Brahmpura said."
