Principal Secretary Tourism Vikas Partap today asked the officers of all the departments to work proactively for completing development works in holy city of Sultanpur Lodhi for upcoming 550th parkash purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in a time bound manner.Presiding over a meeting here at the local grain market to review the preparations of mega event today, the  Principal Secretary, accompanied by MLA Mr Navtej Singh Cheema, former Punjab Minister Mr Joginder Singh Mann and Deputy Commissioner Mr Mohammed Tayyab, said that all of us were very fortunate to have got a lifetime opportunity of being a part of this event. He said that it was our moral duty to ensure that foolproof arrangements were put in place for making this event a successful one . Mr Vikas Partap underlined the need for zealously performing the duty assigned to every individual.The Principal Secretary said that elaborate arrangements would be made for the ensuing mega event during which a footfall of 50 lakh pilgrims was expected in the holy city. Mr Vikas Partap also asked the Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Rahul Chaba to act as nodal officer for better inter agency co-ordination to push ongoing works. He also constituted a committee comprising Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sub Divisional Magistrate Sultanpur Lodhi, Executive Engineers PSPCL and PWD besides EO Nagar council Sultanpur Lodhi to explore feasibility of making underground fittings for the electricity wires in the holy city. 

Dwelling on another agenda , the Principal Secretary said that more than three lakh saplings were to be planted with 550 plants in all 688 villages of the district. He said that as the land for this plantation drive has already been identified so concerted efforts must be made to make this campaign a mass movement. Mr Vikas Partap said that people must be encouraged to adopt every plant for its proper upkeep.During the meeting, the Principal Secretary was informed that the land has been identified for construction of Bebe Nanki college at a cost of RS 15 crore and wheels have been set in motion for widening and strengthening of 142 kilometres long 15 roads, construction of four high level bridges and two foot bridges. Likewise, he was apprised that work for construction of Rest House at cost of RS 2.93 crore, 49.13 kilometres of 10 roads, upgradation of urban infrastructure at cost of RS 20.80 crore, lining and cleaning of Kali  Bein, construction of Bio Diversity park in Bir Shikargah and others was also in progress.On the occasion Director Industries Mr DPS Kharbanda, Director Local Government Mr Karnesh Sharma, Director Tourism Mr MS Jaggi, Chief Administrator JDA Mr Vishesh Sarangal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Rahul Chaba and Mr Avtar Singh Bhullar, Superintendent of Police Mr SS Bains, Additional Chief Administrator JDA Mr Darbara Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate Dr Charumita, Deputy Superintendents of Police Mr Rajinder Sharma and Deputy Superintendents of Police Sultanpur Lodhi Mr Tejveer Singh Hundal besides others.
