Spreading the message of Green Diwali, the Inspector General of Police Bathinda M F Farooqui, Deputy Commissioner Mr Praneet and SSP Bathinda Dr Nanak Singh distributed around 200 kits of saplings, cloth bags, earthern lamps and sweets to the employees of police department. Speaking at the distribution ceremony, Mr Farooqui called upon people to not light any crackers to avoid pollution of all kinds, an idea that is akin to the values of Mission Tandarust Punjab for creating a healthier Punjab. He added that the cloth bags distributed have been made by the inmates of Central Jail Bathinda, which are a way of promoting cloth bag and saying no to pollution caused due to extensive use of plastic bags. He added that the earthern lamps have been added to the kit to promote local made lamps instead of the Chinese ones.Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Mr Praneet and SSP Dr Nanak Singh too appealed people to celebrate Green Diwali.
