To give a fillip to the agriculture and its allied sectors, the Governor’s Administration would establish procurement centers for food grains, including wheat, paddy, maize and others for providing maximum benefits to the farmers for their produce. The Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmed Ganai said this while interacting with a delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Tehreek during public outreach programme here on Monday under the aegis of JK Governor's Grievance Cell.The delegation called for establishment of procurement centers at Panchayat level in Jammu region to procure Paddy, Maize and wheat, revival and strengthening of Cooperative Societies. The delegation also demanded for fixation of MSP of various Basmati varieties, issuance of Kissan Credit Cards and Soil Health Cards to farmers, timely supply of quality seeds, fertilizers on subsidy through agriculture department and others.The Advisor asked the Director Agriculture Jammu to formulate a comprehensive proposal for establishment of procurement centers.Over 350 people forming 30 delegations from across Jammu region met the Advisor and apprised him of their grievances and demands.A deputation of Jammu Institute of General Education and Rehabilitation (JIGER) projected demands of persons with disabilities. The deputation urged for  speeding up the process for establishment of Composite Regional Centre (CRC) in Jammu region, enhancement of conveyance allowance for the employees with all types of disabilities and others similar issues.

Another deputation of Sainik Cooperative Housing Building Society (SCHBS), Sainik Colony Jammu raised issues pertaining to the SCHBS management committee elections.Inhabitants of village Tanda from Reasi demanded up-gradation of Government Middle School, Tanda to High School. The deputation also projected its demand for blacktopping of road from Agriculture University Seri to Kanjli.A deputation from ACC limited projected its issue for clearance of liabilities pending with J&K Cooperative supply and Marketing Federation.imilarly, a deputation of Jammu Cement Dealer Association demanded evasion of toll tax and sale tax on cement. The deputation also demanded for allowing transportation of cement only through Lakhanpur toll post. Association for the Welfare of Senior Citizen demanded for formulation of State policy for old aged persons besides enactment of Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizen Acts in the state on urgent basis.A deputation from Bishnah area demanded for construction of building for Government Degree College at Bishnah.Residents of village Bamag from Udhampur called for providing employment opportunity to the youth of Bamag in SMVDSB. The villagers also demanded construction of protection work at Gouri Mitti,Nabi Soo and Ladda and construction of roads from Kouri Ladda to Ramindh Top Panjpandav.A deputation of residents of South Extension Channi Himmat demanded for construction of lanes and drains along with other basic amenities in the area.

A deputation from Sagote Rajouri demanded for construction of road from Agri Bridge to Pattigala via M S Bandi Sagote.A deputation of Irrigation Mechanical Daily Wager / Casual Labours Employee Association projected the case of release of pending wages.School Education Officer’s Association pleaded for regularization of services of Incharge Headmasters.A deputation from Bain Bajalata Chak Largan demanded the removal of encroachment in gair mumkin khad at Peer Baba Morh interrupting the flow of flood water which raises apprehensions of damages of properties of locals.All India Backward Classes Union raised issues for filling up the vacancies in the office of Directorate of School Education Jammu for its smooth functioning.A deputation of Distance mode/study centre students seeks validation of degrees through distance/study centre mode from outside the state universities.Many other deputations and individuals also projected their demands and developmental issues of their areas.The Advisor gave a patient hearing to the deputations and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. He passed on-spot directions to the concerned departments for redressal of various grievances.Interacting with the officers of various departments, the Advisor directed them to work with efficiency and accountability to deliver quick results on developmental and governance fronts.He said that judicious and productive use of resources has to be ensured so that the funds are utilized according to priorities keeping in mind the larger public good and requirement of basic amenities.The Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai would also be available for public hearing on August 28,2018 (Tuesday) from 10 am to 12 noon at the Convention Centre (State Guest House) Canal Road, Jammu.
