Advisor Khurshid Ahmed Ganai meets various public delegations at JK Governor's Grievance Cell

Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai today heard a large number of deputations which highlighted their grievances at Governor's Grievance Cell, Church Lane,.The deputations represented civil society groups, representatives of employees’ unions and public delegations from different districts. Besides a number of individuals also met the Advisor and apprised him of their issues and demands.A delegation from Tral, led by Bashir Ahmad Jan, demanded creation of a Tourism Development Authority to tap the vast tourism potential of Tral, which is laced with bright spots like Tarsar Marsar and Shikargah. He also sought intervention of the Advisor in expeditious completion of construction work of Khankah-i-Faiz Panah.Another deputation of Horticulture Entrepreneurs Association, Babar Chowdhary, demanded a testing laboratory for certification of organic plants, which he said fetches them low rate in international market.Expressing serious concern over felling of Chinar trees raised by the delegation, the Advisor issued directions to the Floriculture Department to take up the matter with the Divisional and all Deputy Administrations for submitting detailed reports regarding chopping and felling of chinar trees over the last three years.

A delegation of residents of Pogal in Ramban, led by MLA Ramban, Viqar Rasool, demanded upgradation of High School, Pogal, to Higher Secondary School. They informed the Advisor that the school has been established in 1962 and deserves upgradation.Another delegation of Joint Committee of Private Schools, led by Showkat Chowdhary, highlighted the issues pertaining to regulation of fee structure of private educational institutions by the Fee Fixation Committee, established in the School Education Department.While meeting deputation of Adventure Tour Operators delegation, led by Rouf Tramboo, the Advisor issued directions to Tourism Department to diversify their tourism-related activities by focusing on adventure tourism, which has vast potential in the State. He noted the demand raised by the Association about establishing a "Single Window Clearance System' in the Tourism Department for facilitating issuance of NoCs and renewals. He assured the delegation of immediate action over their demand for stopping hosting of marriage functions at the Nigeen Club.Ganai also informed the delegation that he shall call a high-level meeting to discuss the issues related improving the functioning of Nigeen Club.Another delegation from Aang, Mangaad, Anantnag, sought intervention of the Advisor in mitigating their sufferings due to lack of irrigation facilities which has adversely affected their crop cultivation. The Advisor issued on-spot directions to SE Hydraulics South Circle to visit the area and ensure water supply to the said village for irrigation purposes.Another delegation of All Kandi Constructional Contractors' Association sought release of pending work done liabilities from the PHE department.The Assistant Professor aspirant delegation raised the issue of not recruiting professional language teaching faculty in schools here.The Advisor said he will take up the matter with JK BOSE regarding teaching of Kashmiri, Dogri and Bodhi and other regional languages and how they are being taught in schools if there are not enough teachers and arrangements.The All J&K +2 Lecturers Association and delegation of J&K +2 Principals Forum raised the issue of extension of Assured Career Progression (ACP), restoration of non vacation status and other issues.

The delegation comprising Markazi - Idaarae - Auqaf and Village Welfare Panjran, Gund, Achan and Shahoora raised the issue of illegal extraction of sand, stones boulder and dust from Nallah Rambiara in Pulwama and Shopian.The Advisor directed the DC's of Pulwama and Shopian to get the illegal extraction of sand, stones, boulders and dust stopped immediately as the same is exposing the locals to grave threat of floods from both the sides of the Nallah.Another delegation flagged the issue of illegal encroachment of their land at Kishengund, Sangran in Anantnag.The Advisor directed DC Anantnag to depute senior officer to the spot and address the issue.The other delegations that apprised the Advisor Ganai of their issues included J&K Lambardar Association, Citizens Council Bomai Sopore, Auqaf Committee Hakripora Pulwama, All J&K Chowkidar Association, Vocational Instructors Association, Residents of Hyderpora Bypass, All J&K Fisheries Employees Association, M Tech. Students Association, Horticulture Trainees Association, Students of Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry, Laboratory Bearers Association, Employees of Nigeen Club, Contractors Coordination Committee, Western Bus Service Limited besides a several others.During the five-hour-long public hearing, the Advisor heard all delegations and assured them of redressing their grievances. He also issued on the spot directions to the concerned officers asking them to take cognizance of the pertaining issues and redress the same forthwith.He assured them that the Government would ensure outcome-based disposal of the issues raised by the people.The Advisor also assured that the issues pertaining to other departments will be forwarded to the concerned for timely action.Earlier, the Advisor reviewed the grievance redressal mechanism with the officers of JK Governor’s Grievance Cell along with the details of grievances received/redressed till date.
