CEC Kargil discusses feasibility of uniform academic session

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kachoo Ahmad Ali Khan today convened a meeting to discuss the feasibility of uniform academic session for the district.The meeting held threadbare discussions on education scenario of the Kargil district and all the participants agreed to continue examination session October-November for Kargil district in all Government as well as Private Institutions.It was said that in case the academic and examination session is changed to March-April to make a uniform session throughout the State, it could not be feasible for the students of the district, as it becomes un-conducive for academic activities due to the harsh weather conditions and blockage of roads of the far-flung area of the district.The meeting was informed that during the SIE examination of the students of Class 5th and 9th the students faced problems due to regular postponement of examination and suggested for preparation of separate paper and date sheet for conduct of SIE examination for the district. Further, detailed discussions were also held on minor correction case in school certificates like spelling mistakes, DoB mistakes etc. The CEC assured to taking up the matter with the concerned quarters for its redressal.The meeting was attended by the Officers of the Education Department, JKBOSE, Principals and representatives of various Private Educational Institutions.
