National Conference General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar on Thursday said persecution and harassment of the youth was the main legacy of the fallen PDP-BJP Government and said the opportunistic alliance was squarely responsible for pushing the youth towards alienation and disenchantment. Addressing a commemorating convention organized to pay tributes to Late Party Leader and Former MLA Kulgam, Ghulam Nabi Dar, the NC General Secretary said the youth of the State were the primary victims of the PDP-BJP Government as they were robbed of their sense of dignity and their right to a peaceful, prosperous existence.Earlier, Party Vice President Omar Abdullah also paid glowing tributes to Late Ghulam Nabi Dar and said Late Dar was a valued leader, “The youth have been pushed into a corner due to the anti-youth, anti-people policies of the fallen PDP-BJP Government. It is because of the previous Government’s policies that there exists an unprecedented trust deficit in the youth of the State who have been lied to and betrayed by the PDP. The party sought their support on various planks and promises and ended up breaking every single promise it made. The psychological effect of this deceit has been disastrous and has led to a situation today where even educated, employed youth are choosing the path of armed militancy”, The NC General Secretary said.

The NC General Secretary, while paying glowing tributes to Late Party Leader and Former MLA Kulgam, Ghulam Nabi Dar said that Late Dar Sahab’s legacy was that of selfless service and diligence in being at the disposal of his people. “Late Dar Sahab was a thorough gentleman, an exemplary people’s representative and a man of principles. His loyalty to the party will be remembered for ages to come and in his tragic demise the party lost a great leader and his people lost an honest and sincere voice”, the NC General Secretary added.Various Senior Leaders of the Party including Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, State Secretary Sakina Ittoo, South Zone President Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri, Senior Leader Peerzada Ahmed Shah, Legislators Altaf Ahmed Kuloo, Abdul Majeed Bhat (Larmi), District President Shopian Showkat Hussain Ganai, Provincial Spokesperson Ian Nabi Dar, Dr. Muhammad Shafi, Shabir Ahmed Kullay besides others also addressed the commemorative convention and paid glowing tributes to Late Ghulam Nabi Dar.Addressing the convention the NC Leaders said Late Ghulam Nabi Dar’s legacy was a source of inspiration to them and the party workers and said the best tributes to him would be to serve the people, especially the voiceless and underprivileged with renewed diligence and sincerity.
