Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Minister for SC/BC Welfare has directed officers of the Welfare Department to restart one-time settlement (OTS) scheme for the debtors of the Punjab Scheduled Castes Land Development and Finance Corporation.Presiding over a review meeting of the corporation's debt schemes, Mr. Dharamsot said that the officers and employees, whose performance is poor and not satisfactory, should be transferred immediately.After reviewing details of the total loan and recovery of the corporation, he instructed the officers that details of the goods purchased by the debtors with the borrowing money should also be prepared. He appreciated the officers of the District Gurdaspur for getting 100 per cent recovery of loans, while cautioned the officers of district Fazilka for their nominal recovery i.e. 20 percent.

Mr. Dharamsot also asked the officers of the corporation to achieve 25 per cent debt relief target by March 31, 2019, the total amount of which is Rs.15 crore. He also sought officers’ opinion about the payment of the debt to third party directly, from whom the goods are to be purchased and to implement the proposal regarding amount to be paid in two installments.Mr. Dharamsot said that corporation's Small Business Scheme, Agriculture and allied occupation schemes and Small Domestic Industry Scheme are being implemented in true spirit and running well. He said that under these schemes 50 per cent subsidy or 10 thousand loans, whichever is less, is provided to the beneficiaries which are below poverty line.Mr. R. Venkat Ratnam, Principal Secretary, Welfare, Mr. Malwinder Singh Jaggi, Director, Welfare, Mr. Raj Bahadar Singh, Director, SC Sub-Plan, senior officers of the corporation and welfare department and all district welfare officers were present in the meeting.
