Minster for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today chaired a meeting of officers to discussed in detail the finalization of Mathematical Model Studies (MMS) for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Comprehensive Flood Management Programme (CFMP) of River Jhelum & its Tributaries, Phase-II.Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Mir Zahoor Ahmad was also present in the meeting.Expressing satisfaction over the technical and physical work done by the Central Water & Power Research Station, Pune for conducting Mathematical Model Studies (MMS) for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Comprehensive Flood Management Programme of River Jhelum & its Tributaries, Phase-II, the Minister formally handed over the final report of MMS to the M/S WAPCOS Ltd for the action. He also asked the concerned for initiating the survey & other field works ensuring its completion in time bound manner.It is pertinent to mention here that after the devastating floods of 2014; the government has been working on formulation of a mega project for flood management programme of River Jhelum and its tributaries. The Phase-I of the project has already been completed showing better results.Giving detailed account of Mathematical Model Studies (MMS) through Power Point Presentation, the Ministers were informed about all the aspects of the MMS case studies conducted by the Central Water & Power Research Station, Pune.  Threadbare discussions were also held on the short-listed cases with regard to the project.Secretary PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control M. Raju, Chief Engineer FMO, Central Water Commission, New Delhi, Chief Engineer, IBO CWC, Chandigarh, Director CWPRS, Pune, Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control, Kashmir, Director, Monitoring & Appraisal CWC, Jammu, Director, Finance PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control and Executive Director WAPCOS Ltd were also present.
