While addressing a massive public meeting at Shattadhar temple ground in Seraj Assembly constituency of Mandi district today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that Shattadhar would be developed from eco-tourism point of view. He sanctioned rupees one crore for this project and said that tents, huts and trekkers huts would be constructed there to facilitate the tourists.He said the state government had recently completed five months in office and period had witnessed all-round development of the State. Several welfare schemes had been initiated for welfare of every section of the society and development of every area of the State. He said that the State was blessed to have special benevolence of the central leadership. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah were giving special consideration to the developmental needs of the State. He urged the people of the State to strengthen the hands of Shri Modi for development of the Country and the State.The Chief Minister said that the previous state government made announcements without any budget provisions during the fag-end of their tenure. As many as 16 degree colleges were opened without any budget provision by the previous Congress government. The present government was ensuring that developmental works were as per the need and requirements of the people of the State. He said that the existing health and medical institutions would be strengthened by providing adequate staff and robust infrastructure.

Jai Ram Thakur said that efforts would be made to make Seraj, the model Vidhan Sabha constituency of the State. He said that the people of Seraj have supported him continuously from 1998 and he would also ensure the development of the area as per their expectations.He announced Rs 10 lakh for construction of boundary wall at Jogipathar, Rs 10 lakh each for six rural roads of the area, opening of PHC at Thatta, Rs 10 lakh for construction of Dev Sadan at Shattadhar. He also announced up-gradation of Shattadhar-Naingalu-Lamba Thack road to Major District Road. He said that this 75 km road would be upgraded and metelled by spending Rs 26 crore under CRF.Earlier, the Chief Minister performed Puja at Shattadhar temple. Member of Parliament Ram Swaroop Sharma thanked the people of the Seraj for giving the first Chief Minister from Mandi district to the State.  He said that the present Government has launched several welfare schemes for upliftment of the poor and downtrodden. The Jan Manch Programme, Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojana and Mukhayamantri Swavlamban Yojana launched by the government would benefit lakhs of youth and women of the State.Kardaar of Dev Shattinag Hem Raj welcomed the Chief Minister and others on the occasion.  He also detailed various demands of the area.Wife of Chief Minister Dr Sadhna Thakur, MLA Banjar Surinder Shourie, DC Mandi Rugved Thakur, SP Mandi Gurdev Sharma, Mandal BJP President Seraj Sher Singh were present on the occasion among others.
