The District Ropar has witnessed positive improvement in the quality of school education, thanks to the comprehensive implementation of the 'Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab ' programme by the school teachers with zest coupled with the motivational monitoring by the  District Parho Punjab , Parhao Punjab ' team", said  the District Education Officer( Primary), Dinesh Kumar. Divulging details, the Ropar DEO said that the project was launched by the Secretary School education , Krishan Kumar in August last year. The project was aimed at  bringing in qualitative improvement in the teaching learning process. Under the project, the teaching techniques, methodology, activities were designed to make the teaching -learning process more student oriented, interesting, easy and effective. The project was primarily concentrated on strengthening the foundation level of the various subjects so that the language skills, basic concepts of mathematics, science, social studies etc. could be made quite clear to the students.

Besides designing the proper study material / activities as well as innovative techniques under " Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab" project, the training to implement these techniques at the cutting edge level was also imparted to the selected teachers. The master Trainers at the District, Cluster and Block level were deputed, who in turn, imparted training to the teachers in their respective blocks / clusters. Moreover, the set targets were assigned and motivational monitoring was ensured to yield the desired results in well planned manner, further said the DEO while adding that in district Ropar there were 8 Education Blocks and 60 clusters having 558 Primary schools catering to the educational needs of 11889 boys and 10975 girl students.When the Baseline testing of the students in different block of the district under " Parho Punjab, Parhao Punjab" in August last year was done in the district, the result was 35 per cent, it improved to 68 per cent in the month of November last year and it rose to 78.27 in March this year, when the Post Test under the project was conducted, said the District Education officer( Primary), Dinesh Kumar while adding that the students of GPS Jhangerian, Mirpur, Passiwal, Bhatton had given a spell bound performance at the State Level function held recently.
