The forest and wild life protection Minister Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharmsot today inspected the site of imposed Van Chetna Park at village Siswan in Distt. S.A.S Nagar Mohali. He said that this park bring about awareness among the masses about the importance of jungles.Disclosing this Mr. Dharmsot said that this Van chetna park would be set up under ‘Nagar Van Udyan Yojna’. He said that 25 hectare land belonging to the panchayat of village Siswan would be fortified with chain kin fencing for setting up the park. He said that in these Chetna Park benches, swings for children, open gym, watch tower, and huts would be installed for the public to enjoy the natural beauty.He said that one such similar park would be set up each at Dandrala in S.A.S Nagar Mohali, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bathinda and Hoshiarpur. He said the motive of this scheme is to infuse love and awareness among the masses about the importance of jungle and wild life. 

He said that the estimated cost for setting up these park would be 1 Crore each. He and former cabinet minister Mr. Jagmohan Singh Kang also planted a sampling of papal on the occasion.Dharmsot also inspected the planted chandan plants at the forest area of Mullanpur. He said that in this area 400 sapling of chandan tree and 15 thousands saplings of seesham, dhrek and amla tree have been planted. He said that the forest department has grown 2 lacs sapling of chandan tree to provide to the public on concessional rates. He said that one chandan tree after fifteen years produced 15 kilo Hert Wood.The forest Minister also distributed certificates to the students who have successfully completed the knitting and the embroidery training in camps orgnised by forest department at village Mirzapur.Prominent who were accompanying the Minister included Mr. Jatinder Sharma, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Mr. Guraman Singh DFO S.A.S Nagar Mohali and the other senior officers of the department.
