Rohno Kalan (Ludhiana) , 27 Dec 2021

On Monday, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal should not take Punjabis for granted by erecting castles in the sky, adding that he should recognize that Punjabis are far more competent of leading their own state and do not require an outsider like him.He claimed that "proud Punjabis will never let an outsider like Kejriwal to lead them."CM Channi opened a sports park, a panchayat ghar, and a park-cum-satth during his visit to hamlet Rohno Kalan near Khanna. He was joined by Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr. Amar Singh, Payal MLA Lakhbir Singh Lakha, and Zila Parishad chairman Yadwinder Singh Jandiali, among others. CM Channi added that his government is implementing the common man's agenda in the bigger benefit of the state, whereas those like Kejriwal are promising the moon to Punjabis instead of working for the development of 'Aam Aadmi'.He said that Kejriwal is best at rolling out bundles of lies before the people of Punjab. He said it was the same Kejriwal who, before the 2017 Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections, had given a “guarantee” that he would throw Bikram Singh Majithia behind bars for his relations with the drug mafia.“And when AAP failed to form government in Punjab, same Kejriwal offered unconditional apology to Majithia in the court, that too on AAP letterhead.

Families who have lost their sons due to menace of drugs will never forgive Kejriwal,” he said while adding that his government has set the wheels in motion by not only booking Majithia but raids are also underway to arrest him.He said that the “Chacha-Bhateeja” relationship between former CM Capt Amarinder Singh and Bikram Singh Majithia is now an open secret now as the former has been issuing statements in favour of the Akali leader.CM Channi said that ever since he became Punjab CM, more than 100 decisions have been taken in the interest of Punjabis. He said that Punjab is providing cheapest petrol and diesel in the entire northern region and likewise, rates of power are cheapest in the entire country.Listing the several pro-people initiatives taken by his government, he said that the power bill arrears of Rs 1,500 crore have been waived, power rates for domestic consumers have been reduced by Rs 3 per unit, bills to the tune of Rs 1,200 crore have been waived off in rural areas, water charges brought down to Rs 50 and rates for sand have been reduced a lot.
