Minister for Horticulture Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari today chaired a meeting to review the progress achieved on the commitments/ directions issued by the Chief Minister during visit to Sangrama Constituency in the year 2015 and 2017.Commissioner Secretary Power Development Department Hirdesh Kumar, Commissioner Secretary Revenue Shahid Anayatullah, Commissioner Secretary PWD (R&B), Sanjeev Verma, Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah, Secretary PHE Dept M. Raju, Secretary Tourism Sarmad Hafez, DDC Baramulla Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash besides other officers from concerned departments were present on the occasion.During the meeting, the Minister took a department wise progress report for the commitments made by the Chief Minister to resolve various concerns put forth by the people during her public outreach programme and visits to the constituency.Pertaining to works under the ambit of Public works department, the Minister said that works for widening and macadamization of Shrakwara-Kachwa-Dandmoh road, including allied links have not been executed in full with significant stretches having been left incomplete. He directed to initiate action so that the tendered-out works are executed in full at the earliest.
He also directed the concerned to expedite pace on macadamization of Watergam link road and take up works on the remaining stretch on the road besides removing bottlenecks on the Hygam-Tarzoo road for its early execution.Regarding setting up of Lift Irrigation Scheme at Haritar, the Minister was informed that works are under way and the scheme will be made fully functional by May 2018.Further regarding directions passed for augmentation of education sector, the Minister was informed that under the 10 computers for the Imamia public school Watergam have been provided besides Government High School Watergam has been facilitated with the required laboratory equipment and work is in progress for construction of additional block.The Minister directed Secretary Education to review modalities and immediately take up work for upgradation of school at Nijibhat Sopore.It was also informed in the meeting that works have been taken up for construction of additional block for Wagoora hospital, besides PHC Tarzoo has been made fully functional.
Taking note, the Minister directed for immediately taken up works for setting up of dispensary at Nijibhat Sopore.Regarding the local demand for PHC on custodian land at Potkhah, the Minister asked the health and custodian departments to work in tandem and sort modalities so that this work can be taken up on priority.Taking view of works to be executed by tourism department including development of helipad and park at Shakwara, development of Nakpathri–Bandiballa–Satrisura as a tourist destination, the Minister asked for necessary action to be taken and works expedited.Regarding the power sector scenario in the area and directions issued thereof for its augmentation, the Minister asked the department to immediately take up works for setting up of Receiving Station at Hygam, and Kandi Sultanpora, besides augmentation works for Putkha- Muqam RS.Further directions were also passed to PDD and DDC Baramulla to immediately ensure installation of dedicated feeder for Tarzoo hospital.
