Advisor to the Chief Minister, Prof Amitabh Mattoo, today said that Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s contribution towards peace and overall development of the state is admirable which would be remembered for ages.Prof Mattoo stated this while interacting with prominent  social workers and members of civil society here today.Prof Mattoo said that Late Mufti was not just the face of PDP but a reflection of the sentiments of the people besides being one of the most visionary politicians and statesman who was respected across the party lines. “He was a firm believer of non-violence who always advocated  peace and motivated the people to live in harmony and shun all forms of violence”, he added. He said that Mufti believed in a simple philosophy of promoting a vibrant democracy which would percolate to the grass root and ensure the empowerment of the political and democratic institutions in the state.Prof Mattoo said the former CM always believed and advocated the medium of dialogue for resolving the long pending issues and stressed for making it inclusive and broad based.He said that we should all work collectively for propagating and promoting the late statesmen’s vision which would ultimately lead to the lasting peace in the sub-continent.
