Joint Resistance Leadership staged protest against Shopian killings at Hyderpora and large number, party activists and youth took out a rally to protest against the civilian killings in Ganowpora Shopian. Holding play cards in their hands the participants protested against indiscriminate and brutal killings of youth Javid Bhat and Suhail Lone in Shopian by the Indian troops. Leaders and activists from JRL along with people while protesting against these killing said that Killing human beings in every form is cowardly and against humanity. While addressing the gathering  Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Umer Adil Dar, and Advocate Yasir Dalal said that Indian authorities and local stooges have turned the state into “valley of tears” and waged war on civilians and is responsible for prevailing horrendous situations in occupied Kashmir. Ongoing genocide of Kashmiris by Indian occupational forces which is actually being done at the behest of Indian leadership is a glaring example of this state sponsored terrorism, said they.

Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Umar Adil Dar, addressed the protest procession, while other leaders who attended the protest march included Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Mukhtar Ahmed Sufi, Mushtaq Ahmed Sufi, Syed Imtiaz Haider, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Farooq Ahmed Sodagar, Ramiz Raja, Imtiaz Ahmed Shah, Syed Mohammad Shafi, Mohammad Sidiq Shah, Riaz Ahmed, Rafiq Ahmed, Abdul Ahad Butt, Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Ashiq Hussain and Sajjad Ahmed. Speakers while condemning the Shopian killings termed it as worst form of state terrorism in Kashmir and lamenting at state administration, the leaders said that they have turned the state into a big jail and people and political leaders are denied their right to raise their voice against ongoing genocide.

Curfew and severe restrictions have been imposed besieging the already imprisoned population further. Pro freedom leadership has been either imprisoned or placed under house arrest., said they and added that the killing spree continues and an enraged population is getting desperate said they.We have a right to ask these henchmen that what is that peace you are talking about. They are living in an illusion and it is their delusion that people will budge and succumb to their pressure tactics,” said they, saying “we will never succumb to pressure and will pursue our mission of freedom till we achieve it.

Terming the details revealed by the three-member committee constituted by Delhi High Court, the leaders said that report was an eye-opener for those who believe India is a great democracy. They expressed deep concern saying the reports reveal horrific situations in Indian jails. The said committee has divulged the grim picture and reports reveal that detainees are meted out with inhuman treatment. Demanding the immediate shifting of all detainees to valley the leaders said that the behaviour of authorities in outside jails is quite inhuman and callous. Appealing international community, and organization for human rights, they impressed to take their cognizance and use influence for immediate and unconditional release of all detainees.
