DDC inspects ongoing works of Kuntwara, Kandni bridges over Chenab River

District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana, today inspected the ongoing  works of Chatter and Kandni Kuntwara bridges over Chenab River and Hasti- Sarthal road.DDC was accompanied by CPO Kishtwar Yasir Balwan, XEN R&B Mohinder Kumar and other engineers.DDC directed the executing agency (ECI) and concerned PMGSY engineers to expedite the work of approaches to right side abutment of the Chatter bridge so that its completed within one month.  He also assured to provide logistic support for the completion of the work.During his inspection, the officials of construction agency informed the DDC  that due to non availability of road connectivity  they are unable to take up the work on right side of Chenab. They said if NHPC authorities stop the discharge of water from tunnel for some hours so that the machines could be carried easily across the river chenab.On the occasion, Rana also took stock of problems of the Kuntwara villagers and directed PHE and RDD officials to provide adequate   water facility and water storage tank in  village in a short span of time .DDC also inspected the Kandni bridge which is completed by the R&B within 40 days.On the occasion, scores of local people of Kandni, hailed the efforts of District Development Commissioner Kishtwar for early completion of the steel bridge by replacing the old wooden bridge.DDC also inspected the ongoing work of Hasti-Sarthal Devi Ji road on which mettling of the road surface is going on.Whereas, the DDC expressed displeasure over the slow pace of work and issued on the spot directions to the concerned agency to complete the work of mettling within two months.
