Police on Saturday detained couple of youth part of the protest against the ill-treatment of Kashmiri political prisoners in India’s Tihar Jail in Kashmir capital Srinagar. Scores of youth under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Youth Civil Society assembled in Press Enclave Srinagar and staged a peaceful demonstration. The protesting youth urged international community to impress upon India to stop mistreating Kashmiri prisoners in Indian jails.    The protesters were carrying placards and banners seeking release of political prisoners. One of the banners read: “Tihar Jail is worst than Abu Gharib and Guantanamo jails.”   “We registered this protest against the ill-treatment of political prisoners in India’s Tihar Jail. Even, medical aid is denied to them,” said one of the protesters to news agency CNS.While protesters were talking to reporters, police swung into action and detained couple of them. The arrested protesters were lodged in police station Kothi Bagh. (CNS)
