Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today visited Sohanjana village to take stock of arrangements being made for smooth conduct of ‘Gowgopal Mahayagya’.The 12-day ‘Gowgopal Mahayagya’ is an annual feature which will commence from December 15 and conclude on December 26, 2017 at Sohanjana “the Samadhi sthal of DwarkanathShastri”.Assuring the management for extending full support from government for the smooth conduct of Mahayagya, the Minister also donated 500 blankets. Mahayagya is organized every year in which devotees from across the country come to participate. Minister said toensure the smooth stay of devotees, it is duty of the government to take necessary measures and assured the management that steps will be taken to ensure smooth conduct of the Mahayagya.

While reviewing the arrangements, the Minister directed the line departments for putting in place all the necessary arrangements well before the commencement of Mahayagya so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience during the Mahayagya.He asked the concerned to work in close coordination to make the event successful. He also directed the Rural Development Department to lay tiles and conduit pipes, and R&B department to take into hand the work of blacktopping of local road for smooth plying of vehicles. He directed the PDD and PHE department for ensuring round-the-clock power and water supply. He also directed the PHE department for pressing into service water tankers during the Yagya period.He directed the concerned for establishing 24X7 First-Aid centre, provision of firewood, K.oil, LPG cylinders, mobile lavatories, temporary shelters and plying of adequate SRTC buses on concerned roads during the period for the convenience of devotees.Responding to the demands for construction of bathghats and stairs at Sarovar, digging of tube-well and separate transformer, the Minister said that their genuine demands would be met in phased manner.Among others, Chief Engineer PHE, Jammu, Superintending Engineers, Executive Engineers, besides sectoral officers of line departments accompanied the Minister.
