In order to provide an opportunity to the students to present their innovative ideas, Government College for women, Parade, in collaboration with Indian Science Congress Association, Jammu Chapter, organized a science model competition in which large number of students from various colleges of Jammu Division participated.The central theme of the competition revolved around the theme of the Indian Science Congress Association for the year 2017, “Reaching the Unreached”. Dr. Pragya Khanna was the Organising secretary and Dr. Bandhan Sharma was the co-organising secretary for the event while Prof M.K. Jyoti, Former Professor from University of Jammu and Member, Executive Council, ISCA, Prof. Hemla Agarwal, Principal, GCW Parade and Prof. Ranvijay Singh adjudged the models.

The model exhibited by students of Govt. Degree College Samba was adjudged the best while as the2nd and the 3rd prizes were bagged by students of Govt. College for women, Parade, Jammu. All the participants were given certificates of participation and the winners were presented mementos.The winner of the competition shall be attending Indian Science Congress to be held at Osmania University, Hyderabad from January 3rd -7th, 018.Prof. M.K. Jyoti addressed the students and expressed his happiness and contentment on seeing such innovative science models on display. Dr Hemla Aggarwal applauded the students and the organizing team for proactive participation in the event.
