Martyrs are the crown of our nation ad society and their sacrifices for maintaining law and order cannot be forgotten. This was stated by Governor Punjab & Administrator UT Chandigarh V. P. Singh Badnaur while addressing the function organised by Chandigarh Police at ML Puri Senior Secondary School Mullapur Garibdas, to pay tribute to Shaheed Inspector Such Singh. He said that the sacrifices of Police officials for the unity & integrity of the nation will always be remembered.Paying homage to the photo of Shaheed Sucha Singh who had served as a Inspector at Chandigarh Police, Sh. VP Singh Badnaur said that on 8 June 2013 inspector Sucha Singh found suspected boy & girl roaming near District Court Bus Stand sector 17 whom upon general inquiry did not have any satisfied answer were arrested by Inspector Sucha Singh and while on the way to Police Station Inspector Sucha Singh was deeply wounded at his back by the suspects and meanwhile at PGI hospital inspector Sucha Singh got a death of martyr on serving his duty. Governor said that Inspector Sucha Singh has also received 29 appreciation letters for his better performance and also got a Police Medal for Administrator Services and we all have proud of such officer. Born & brought up of village Parach, sucha Singh got his basic education at ML Puri senior Secondary school at Mullapur Garibdas. Governor also honoured his wife Ranjit Kaur and his son Parminder Singh who is serving as ASI in Chandigarh Police. 

Besides other family members were also honoured.Earlier, DGP Chandigarh Police Sh. Tajinder Singh Luthra remembering inspector Sucha Singh said that getting money or having someone born in a big city does not mean the same as getting martyrdom in order to maintain law, order & integrity of the country. He said the honouring the family members of martyrs at their home towns are a unique initiative by Chandigarh Police. He said that family members of martyrs are being honoured by Chandigarh Police at their home towns for their sacrifices.During this Governor Punjab also launched a picture book describing the martyrs of Chandigarh Police. During this he also handed over a check of Rs. 11000/- to the meritorious student Harish kumar under Inspector Sucha Singh Memorial Annual Scholarship. Under the scholarship scheme scholarship will be provided to Matric student for securing first position in school. During this governor also inaugurated a memorial library. Earlier guard of honour was received by Governor by District Police Team under the headship of DSP Kharar Sh. Deep Kamal.During this Ex Minister Jagmohan Singh Kang, Commissioner Roopnagar Range Sh. V.K. Mina, Deputy Commissioner Smt. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, SDM Kharar Smt. Amninder Kaur along with other district police officials and Chandigarh police officials and officers were present.
