MARKFED Launches 'Kissan Kit' To Enhance Productivity Of Wheat Crop

In order to enhance the productivity of wheat crop in Punjab, Markfed has launched a 'Kissan Kit' consisting of entire range of Agro Chemicals required from sowing to harvesting of wheat. This kit was jointly launched by Sh. Amarjit Singh Samra, Chairman, Markfed and Sh. Arshdeep Singh Thind, IAS, M.D., Markfed at its Head quarters.  This Kit contains Agro-chemicals required for ten acres.Sh. Amarjit Singh Samra, while speaking on the occasion disclosed that Markfed being friend of farmers always watches the interest of farmers and one kit will provide solutions to control weeds, insects and diseases for eleven acres of wheat crop and farmers will required to pay for ten acres. Sh. Arshdeep Singh Thind, IAS, M.D. informed that Field Officers of Markfed branches spread at block level all over the state will contact the progressive farmers of the state.  In order to ensure the safe use of pesticides, every kit has been provided with hand gloves, gas-mask and flood jet nozzle free of cost. The farmers will save Rs.600-700 per acre for getting free pesticides for additional one acre after every ten acres in addition to the price reduction of Rs.300/- per acre as compared to market.

B.M.Sharma, Executive Director, Markfed while addressing on the occasion said that the field functionaries of Markfed educate the farmers for the safe use of pesticides in order to have better results. Progressive farmer from Mohali and former chairman of Milk Union Sh. Parminder Singh Chalaki while welcoming this initiative of Markfed added that farmers will be now able to obtain best quality of agro chemicals at reasonable prices. Another progressive farmer and member district production committee Sh. Bhupinder Singh appreciated this move of Markfed and rated it as very timely decision.Markfed Board Member Sh. Sarbjit Singh Gharuan emphasized the prompt supply of Kit so that the farmers are able to take away agro chemicals along with DAP.  Sh.Sanjiv Sharma, Dy.General Manager, Mohali Plant explained the product range of Markfed for pesticides and ensured timely supply of best quality Agro-chemicals.
