Former Minister and State Congress President Professor Saifuddin Soz has expressed displeasure with National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi for not taking his complaint seriously.Soz had lodged a complaint against an Indian army officer who used innocent Farooq Ahmed Dar, a Central Kashmir resident as Human Shield on April 9, 2017.In a communiqué to Dr. S.N. Mohanti, Secretary, National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi, Soz has written that he never heard anything from the Commission about his complaint all these days except that he had been told that his complaint had been put on records and the Diary No. was set as 57850/CR/2017.“The Commission has full knowledge of the fact that General Bipin Rawat has given an Award to the erring army officer (erring officer, as per the public perception) to keep, as the General said, the morale of the forces high,” the communiqué reads.Soz has written that General Rawat has once more explained to the Indian Civil Society that the forces would use their ‘own methods’ in what they call the ‘Dirty War’. While many things related to the incident in Budgam are happening on the ground, the National Human Rights Commission has, very surprisingly, maintained its silence continuously. I would request you to bring this letter to the notice of the Chairman and other members of the Commission, at your earliest.”(CNS)
