Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday asked the state Chief Secretary to ensure that all genuine demands and grievances of industries are incorporated in the new industrial policy, to be released soon.Captain Amarinder Singh directives came during an interaction with a delegation of the Patiala Industrial Estate Welfare Society, led by its President Mr. Narinder Singh Khurana, at the Punjab Bhawan here. The delegation apprised the Chief Minister of their pending demands, in response to which Captain Amarinder conceded that the industrial focal points were in dilapidated condition due to sheer neglect.The Chief Minister assured provision of basic amenities like uninterrupted power, water supply and sewerage at all the focal points on top priority.Emphasizing the need to augment the infrastructure facilities, besides Sewerage Treatment Plants (STPs) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs) to industries to check the rising levels of environmental pollution, Captain Amarinder directed the Punjab Pollution Control Board to chalk out a comprehensive action plan in this regard.

Reiterating his firm commitment to ensure level playing field to all the industries across the state, the Chief Minister said that the past trend of lopsided development would be discouraged, and an equitable and uniform development model will be adopted to put the state back on the fast track of industrialization.Acceding to their demand to put up a large industrial plant in Patiala, Captain Amarinder Singh said that he personally got a positive response from industry captains like Tatas, Ambanis, Mahindras and several others during his recent visit to Mumbai, and they had evinced keen interest in setting up industrial ventures in the state.Prominent amongst others who attended the meeting included; Health & Family Welfare Minister Mr. Braham Mohindra, Congress leader Mr. Harinder Pal Singh Harry Mann besides Chief Secretary Mr. Karan Avtar Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Tejveer Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director PSPCL Mr. A Venu Prasad, CEO Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion Mr. D.K. Tewari and Director Local Government Mr. Kamal Kishore Yadav.
