The Punjab Technical Education Minister  Charanjit Singh Channi today visited the Panjab University Campus and met agitating students and University Authorities to solve the current issue of fee hike. Mr. Channi said that Modi led Union Government is responsible for degradation of government education due to its wrong policies which are supporting privatization of education system throughout the country.Mr. Channi said that he himself is a student of Panjab University and he is very pained by the severe police action by the Police on the agitating students. He said that the students should have called by the University for table talks and this situation could have been handled in a better way. He said that but due to the adamant behavior of some authorities this matter was not dealt in a proper way. Mr. Channi said that after meeting with the students he met the university authorities and has arranged a meeting of University Authorities with the Punjab Government on Monday to solve the issues related to the Punjab Government.Mr. Channi said that he has appealed to the universities authorities to withdraw all police cases registered against the agitating authorities. He also sat on Dharna and met all student unions and assured them full support in rollback of fee hike. Earlier on Thursday NSUI State President Mr. Gurjot Sandhu, NSUI leader Sukhjit Singh along with other university students met Punjab Technical Education Minister and asked him to visit Panjab University to solve the issue with the University authorities.
