Punjab Vigilance Bureau is keeping a vigil eye on the ongoing wheat procurement in the state to ensure that farmers and Aarthis (Commission Agents) should not face any difficulty or harassment at the hand of any corrupt official.In a statement issued here, an official spokesman of Vigilance Bureau said that Mr. Amardeep Singh Rai, IGP Vigilance today visited grain markets of Sangrur, Dhuri and Malerkotla and interacted with farmers and Aarthis to hear their grievances besides getting feedback regarding ongoing wheat procurement.Spokesman further said that Mr. Rai spend quality time with the farmers in the grain markets and aware them regarding Vigilance Bureau’s mission of ending corruption in the state. “IGP Vigilance appeals the farmers and Aarthis to report any corrupt practice or corruption they witnessed in the ongoing wheat procurement without any hesitation. He also appealed them to immediately report any complaint against corrupt public servant at 1800-1800-1000 to help Vigilance Bureau in achieving its mission”, he added.Mr. Amardeep Singh Rai, who was accompanied by officials from concerned district administrations during his visit, also directed local vigilance officials to ensure that not even single farmer or Aarthia, who were working hard to make state a food bowl of the country, should face any grievance due to any corrupt official, said the official spokesman.
