Expressing joy and happiness over the festival of Besakhi that is being celebrated on 13th April 2017, All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has expressed hope that the festival of Besakhi would be harbinger of peace and prosperity in the State.In a statement to KNS, APSCC chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina appealed all the Sikh brethren to celebrate Besakhi in a simple manner to express their solidarity with the majority community following the recent killing of eight civilian in the central Kashmir.In his Besakhi greeting message APSCC chairman Raina said that the festival like Besakhi bring about happiness and joy among the people, Raina said such festive occasion provide a chance to the people of different communities to come close each other while exchanging pleasantries.For Sikhs Besakhi is celebrated as the day of the creation of Khalsa.For Sikhs, Beaakhi is a time for reflection when people are more incline to become initiated into the Khalsa. People from any background are welcome to join in and take part in the Besakhi celebration.“I wish and pray that this Besakhi bring peace and prosperity for the people of State. Hope this Besakhi bring joy and happiness the bringing smile on the faces of people of Kashmir”, said Raina. Many other Sikh leaders extended their Besakhi greetings including principle Naranjan Singh, Ajeet Singh Mastana, Sant Singh, Dr. Joginder Singh Shan, Engineer Nirmal Singh, Master Kuldeep Singh and others.
