Lauding the party cadre for their stand for institutional growth and commitment for an ideology based on truth and justice, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thursday said the party will carry on its mission to change the political discourse in Jammu and Kashmir.“PDP is not just an idea but a movement which has got people out of difficult times. The credit for it goes to the work of our party workers who have stood by our leadership at every crucial time. The time is not far when their sincerity will pay the dividends,” the party General Secretary, Nizamudin Bhat and Senior Party leader, Mohammad Khalil Bhand, said in a joint statement after meeting various public delegations in Pulwama. They called upon the party cadre to remain firm and act as a bridge between the people and the government adding, “The public participation is pivotal for executing the party’s agenda of empowerment and peace. We seek your active participation in our endeavours to address every issue related to governance, development and peace.”

Referring to the contribution of the party towards changing the political discourse of the state, they said it is the sum total of individual efforts by our workers in creating a viable political alternative that advocated peace and dialogue. The leaders said the agenda of PDP incorporates the answer to the political, economic and social crisis that has taken a heavy toll on the state ever since the partition. They said the party has set new benchmarks of accountability, development & justice in the system and continue to work for the welfare and development of state and its people.Accusing National Conference and Congress for inflicting miseries on people, the leaders said history is witness to their political machinations and deceptions at critical junctures. “NC and Congress have damaged the polity of J&K by resorting to political frauds and compromises. They have demolished the institutions for the sake of power. Memories of people are afresh. Their propaganda against us will not cut the ice,” they added.Acknowledging the problems which the people of state face, the leaders said the government has devised a comprehensive policy to address every issue in a time bound manner.
