The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday accused the BJP-ruled municipal corporations of "absolute financial and functional collapse" and slammed the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) for patting its back in a report card it issued on Thursday.Talking to reporters here, AAP leader Dilip Pandey said the municipal corporations had failed on all fronts as far as their responsibilities are concerned."Despite that, the EDMC recently made public its report card where it talks about its achievements in the field of healthcare, education, sanitation and others."It is shameful that the municipal corporations are patting their backs without doing anything for Delhi and despite the deplorable conditions they have created in the city," Pandey said. The EDMC on Thursday presented the report card of its functioning detailing the "remarkable work" it accomplished in the last five years in Delhi.

The AAP leader said all three civic bodies -- east, south and north Delhi -- had repeatedly failed to use funds under 'Swachh Bharat Mission' as well as funds released by the Delhi government to be spent on healthcare."Despite that, they keep claiming shortage of money. There is no lack of funds in the municipal corporations, but a lack of intent," Pandey said.He added the AAP would not only waive house tax if it comes to power in the civic polls to be held on April 23, it would also clean Delhi."We will not only clean the streets, but also the system in the municipal corporations."Pandey said the AAP was also looking forward to the report cards of the North-MCD and South-MCD so it could "expose their lies".The elections to the three civic bodies would be held on April 23 and the results would be declared on April 26.
