Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Mr Shantmanu, in a simple but impressive function, today released an informative Compact Disc (CD) in Dogri language for creating awareness about enrollment of new voters in the electoral rolls who have attained the age of 18 years.Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur,  Mr Niraj Kumar, who is District Election Officer of the district and Deputy District  Election Officer, Udhampur have conceived the idea to prepare CD in local language to  make people, especially the youth who have attained 18 years of age, aware about the importance of vote and to register as voters.Complimenting District Election Officer and Deputy District Election Officer Udhampur for taking the initiative in this regard, the Chief Electoral Officer said the short film will spread the message in large area of Jammu Province with regard to enrollment of new voters.  He asked the people particularly youth to come forward and register themselves as voters so that no one is left unregistered. He asked them to register as voters, become the part of stronger democracy and play their role in development of the country and the state. The CD would also prove beneficial in   Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities, he maintained.Among others, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Raman Kesar, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Krishan Lal and Deputy District Election Officer, Udhampur Ms. Sapna Kotwal were also present on the occasion.
