Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh, Sunday called for expediting supply of timber to religious places and needy consumers in the State.The Minister was speaking at a review meeting of State Forest Corporation (SFC) here today during which he took stock of the Corporation’s functioning. He said the Corporation has a huge responsibility on its shoulders and added that efforts are underway to further streamline its functioning for the convenience of general public.On the occasion, Lal Singh directed the officials to adhere to the targets given to them and distribute the timber to needy consumers within the month of March. He called for adopting innovative methods and providing facility to consumers at their doorstep to make the Corporation more effective and its functioning people-oriented.The meeting also discussed the future action plan for the Corporation. The Minister stressed the officers to work with added zeal and said that there is no shortage of funds and instructed them to adopt proactive approach on all the projects for their timely completion and their subsequent benefits to the people.CCF Kashmir, MD SFC and other concerned officials attended the review meeting.
