Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri organized seminar on Budget titled Budget -O- Meter. The Key note speakers of the function were P.K. Behl, AGM, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Shirish Mudgal, Regional Manager, Business Standard and Dr. J.P.S. Sibia Chairman, Board of Studies, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.  Mr. Behl informed that this budget has reduced the fiscal deficit from 3.5% of GDP to 3.2% which will help in controlling the inflation. He further said that this budget has given clear indications of the reduction in interest rate in coming time and it is because of this that the shares of housing sector surged almost instantly.Mr. Shirish Mudgal threw light on the impact of budget on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and elaborated how it will increase the profitability of the MSME and will beget more entrepreneurs in the country. Dr. Sibia highlighted the impact of Budget on Digitization, Subsidy and Foreign Trade. He appreciated the steps taken by govt. to promote digitization. He further said that the decision of the Govt. to transfer subsidy directly to the accounts of beneficiary, is a good step if it could be done successfully. He appreciated various policies regarding electrification of rural India and employment generation through MNREGA.Later, students of MBA took part in the  debate competition involving Individual presentations on various aspects of the budget. In this competition, the team of Priya Mahajan & Neha Saini bagged first prize, Pallavi & Mandeep, Second Prize while the third prize was won by Preeti & Vaishnavi.Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC appreciated the budget terming it to be industry friendly and said that this budget is likely to generate more employment opportunities for engineering & management students.
