Showering some new colours to its poll campaign, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today initiated a unique campaign in which “ Jaago” was taken out in all key constituencies of major cities to aware public about the policies of the programmes of party.
Giving a blend of typical Punjabi culture to its poll campaign, AAP workers took out “Jaago” in the constituencies of Amritsar (East), Quandian, Gurdaspur City, Patiala, Bathinda and Jalandhar. Hundreds of women volunteers of AAP along with a young woman carrying earthed lamps on her head, took out “Jaago” at more than 150 places throughout Punjab and all traffic went halt to witness this unique campaign in the cities. With full enthusiasm, women raised slogans “le gaya bai le gaya, Jhaaru wala le gaya, Jeeje di na saale di, sarkar banegi jhaaru wale di, Bete di naa a Baap di, sarkar banegi AAP di and chitte te na daaru te, mohar lagegi jhaaru te”.
Within minutes even passerby were seen dancing on the beats of Dhol and tune of AAP song “Jhaaru wala button daba dyo punjabiyo.... Badlan nu sabak sikha dyo punjabiyo...” In Jalandhar (Cantonment) constituency, wife of the AAP Candidate, HS Walia took out the “Jaago” in the main market of the constituency, where people came out of their shop to accompany “Jaago”. An enthusiastic voter of Jalandhar Central assembly segment, one woman voter Sarabjit Kaur could not hide her feeling and said “perhaps, first time I have seen such an enthusiasm in any political parties in Punjab and this unique campaign will definitely aware the public about the policies and programmes of AAP”.
