Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) today strongly condemn the thrashing of Sikh community members by Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) workers in the presence of Police and Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at Sangrur yesterday.AAP state convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich in a statement said that certain Amritdhari Sikhs who were hurt at the sacrilege of holy Guru Granth Sahib had demanded from Chief Minister to arrest the accused of sacrilege but Chief Minister failed to satisfy the protesters. The Police took the protesting Sikhs in their custody and handed over the SAD goons for beating them up. The Akalis even attacked media persons which is also highly condemnable.AAP leader said that sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib was abig issue in Punjab elections and Sikh commnity is disturbed over attitude of Badal who failed to stop the incidents and also didnt arrest the culprits. He said that complicity of SAD in the sacrilege incidents was evident from the fact that Deputy Chief Minister was trying to blame AAP for the incidents.
He said that Police was under pressure from Sukhbir Singh Badal not to arrest the miscreants involved in sacrilege incidents. He said that certain police officials who enjoyed power durign SAD-BJP rule were helping the Akalis in elections and AAP is keeping watch on their activities. "It is sorry state of affairs and police is still working as stooge of Akali leaders", Waraich said.He said that policemen who were responsible for firing on innoicent Sikhs sitting on Dharna in Behbal Kalan would not be spared and accused involved in sacrilege cases would be brought to book.Waraich alleged that Sukhbir Badal had tried to involve AAP MLA from Delhi in the sacrilege of holy Quaran Shrif with the motive of defaming AAP. He said that Sukhbir Badal's comspiracy to spark communal tension and blame AAP was foiled by wise people of Punjab. He said that Sukhbir Badal was accusing AAP for links with terrorists whereas declassified documents of US intelligence agency CIA have revealed that Parkash Singh Badal had links with the terrorists and he was behind spreading terrorism in Punjab.Wariach said that people of Punjab would teach a lesson to Badal family for desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and spreading drug menace. He said that Badals have ruined one full generation with the drugs. He said that AAP would develop a new Punjab which every Punjabi would feel proud of.
