Reacting on today’s incident of firing among gangsters at Jalandhar in which one of the gangsters received bullet injuries State Convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gurpreet Singh Waraich today said that Law & Order situation in Punjab has stooped to a new low in Punjab. “Criminals have no fear of police, which can be evident from the fact that gangsters indulge in firing in the heart of Jalandhar town, amidst high security due to election”, Waraich said apprehending use of “gangsters” by Akalis to create fear among Punjabis in the days to come. Be it series of sacrilege incidents, day light jail breaks, gangsters running the writ from lockups, murders and the Mafia rule SAD-BJP govt has failed to check or curb the rising crime in the state , he added.
“Days of SAD-BJP Government are numbered and in March AAP will form the Government and we are determined to provide safety and security to all Punjabis”, Waraich said.Waraich said the AAP govt will provide employment to the youth instead of leaving them alone to get addicted to drugs and indulge in gang wars. As SAD-BJP can already foresee its humiliating defeat in the assembly elections, they may resort to use of their “Gundas ” to create panic among Punjabis”, Waraich said.He revealed that DGP, Punjab, himself admitted that there were 57!gangs were operational in Punjab but he failed to nab any of them so far.Even four of the gangsters, who fled from the Nabha Jail were yet to be arrested and it is suspected that Akalis have provided them “Safe Haven”, he said.
