In adherence to the directions of Chief Election Commission, implementation of model code of conduct should be ensured in district SAS Nagar for the assembly elections in constituency SAS Nagar, Kharar & Dera Bassi to be held on 4th February and all Officials & Employees  should perform their duty with dedication and honesty. This was stated by Commissioner Roopnagar Division Sh. Vivek Pratap Singh while addressing a meeting with officials convened at Meeting room of District Administrative Complex.Sh. V.P.Singh said that Election duty is a very important duty as such giving a priority to this, no negligence towards this should be done. To conduct fair and smooth elections in the district, all Officials & Employees  should perform the duties assigned to them with full dedication & honesty without any kind of pressure, fear & greed. He said that the duty assigned to them should be performed with full responsibility and a close watch should be kept against violation of model code of conduct and appropriate action against violators should be initiated without any delay.

During this District Electoral Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Sh. D.S.Mangat apprised Sh. V.P.Singh regarding arrangements being ensured for conducting peaceful assembly elections in the district. During this he directed the officials to keep a close watch on violator's indulges in sticking posters on govt. buildings especially during night hours. He said that if any poster is found on govt. or private building without prior permission, than such posters should be removed immediately as and when noticed and appropriate action against defaulters should be initiated as per Public Defacement Act. During this he said that to facilitate registration of complaints related to elections, a call centre & complaint monitoring cell has been established at district administrative complex with toll free number 1800-180-2051. Besides this election related complaints could also be registered through whatsapp or through mobile number 94788-94788. The control room thus established remains functional for 24 hours working.During this Additional District Electoral Officer cum Additional Deputy Commissioner Sh. Charandev Singh Mann, Returning Officer cum SDM Smt. Anuprita Johal, Assistant Commissioner (General) Sh. Jasveer Singh, District Transport Officer Jagdish Singh Johal, District Social Security Officer Smt. Amrit Bala, Assitant Returning Officer Kharar Sh. Gurminder Singh, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies Smt. Barjinder Kaur Bajwa & officials of other departments were present.
