National Vice President of the Trinamool Congress and former Railway Minister Mukul Roy visited Amritsar today. He began his day by paying obeisance at Darbar Saheb and Jalianwala Bagh and then led a large protest march against demonetization and the misuse of CBI by the Modi Government. At a press conference held later he confirmed that the TMC will be contesting more seats in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections and that the next list of TMC candidates will be released in a day or so. He also ruled out possibilities of a pre poll alliance with AAP and said the scope and time for negotiations was over and that the TMC was well prepared to go ahead alone. He flayed the NDA Govt and said "This fascist government has misled the people on the demonetization issue and subverted governance for a corporate agenda - now they are misusing government agencies against the opposition. Under the leadership of our fearless leader Mamataji we will fight this fascist government on every step, every platform and we will not be cowed down by such pressures"When asked about Manish Sisodia's statement that Arvind Kejriwal will be the CM face of the AAP in Punjab, Jagmeet Brar said "While it is their internal matter all I can say as a Punjabi is that I am disappointed that AAP could not find one able Punjabi for the position; the question is - do their national leaders and observers feel that Punjabis are not capable of handling Punjab? The mask has slipped". The events of the day were attended by TMC candidates Giriraj Rajora and Vijay Sathi alongwith Gurbachan Singh Saral, Manjit Singh, Gurdas Girdhar, Gurbir Sandhu, Sant Singh Ghagga, Samrat Topadar and Kabir Sardar .
