PDP hails High Court for censure of SAD-BJP government for non-payment of dues of pensioners

Punjab Democratic Party(PDP) has flayed the SAD-BJP government  for not paying the arrears of pensioners and also balance of 6th pay commission arrears and hailed the Punjab and Haryana High Court for censure of the Badal government for wasting money on advertisements.In a statement made here Er.Gurkirpal Singh said that it was unfortunate that SAD-BJP government had not paid Rs.309 crores of arrears of pensioners and wasting money on misplaced priorities. He said that Punjab Government was not even able to pay the salaries of serving staff and most of employees on working on contract and adhoc basis are also under paid. He said that it was due to fund scarcity that Badal government has failed to implement the equal work and equal pay order of the Supreme Court.

PDP President said that High Court has rightly observed that SAD-BJP government was spending huge money on advertisements making tall claims and launching new schemes in the election year.  He said that the funds meant for salaries and pensions can’t be diverted for popular schemes. He hailed the High Court decision to attach the funds of Rs.309.03 crore from the account of Excise and Taxation Department to pay the arrears of pensioners. Er.Gurkirpal Singh said that SAD-BJP government had drive Punjab state to the brink of bankruptcy by mismanagement of funds and diverting funds for useless programmes like Sangat Darshan. He said that Punjab had an overdraft of Rs.1595 crores in December from RBI which is serious matter. He said that even though SAD-BJP government has made development its poll plank but on ground there is no development in villages and towns.He said that Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has no right to continue in his post after the censure by High Court.
