Asiea Naqash reviews arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)

Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash today visited Hazratbal shrine to take stock of the arrangements put in place for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW).The Milad days will commence from November 30 to December 16, 2016.On the occasion, the Minister chaired a meeting to review the arrangements and facilities made for devotees who will be visiting the Hazratbal shrine during Eid-e-Milad days.Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Vice Chairman J&K Wakaf Board, Peer Mohammad Hussain, Chief Engineer PHE, SE PDD, General Manager SRTC and officers from Information Department (FPU), SMC, Police, Traffic, RTO, Fire & Emergency Services, PDD, PHE, Health, and SRTC besides members of Muslim Wakf Board attended the meeting.During the meeting, the Minister was informed that for convenience of the devotees, SRTC will ply adequate number of buses from Lal Chowk, Qamarwari, Batamaloo, Pantha Chowk besides from all district headquarters to Hazratbal shrine during all auspicious days.  She was informed that Health Department will setup 5 medical camps with all health care facilities in and around the Shrine. 

 The meeting was told that SMC will deploy 70 additional workers for round the clock sanitation in and around the shrine besides 4 mobile toilets will be established at different locations.Officials of PDD assured that they will provide uninterrupted electricity besides repairing defunct lights in the area and would also keep additional generators available to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the shrine.The meeting was told that PHE will provide round the clock water supply and additional water tankers would be kept available in the Shrine premises. It was also given out in the meeting that SMC will start drive against the dog menace in the area.The Minister directed the authorities of R&B department to repair all potholes and choked drains around the shrine. She also asked LAWDA officials to clean the pond near Dal lake and arrange facilities for the devotees offering Nimaz.The Minister asked all the departments to ensure all arrangements well in time to facilitate the devotees paying obeisance at the shrine and said that she will personally monitor the arrangements during all these days.The Minister directed the Wakaf Board Authorities to ensure proper flooring and heating arrangements besides comfortable tents in and around the Shrine so that devotees do not face any kind of problem.Later, the Minister distributed cheques worth Rs 7.50 lakh in favour of 13 families of fire victims of Hazratbal Constituency.
